Terms of Service

Introduction

This page, together with our Privacy Policy and our Sales and Refunds policy, tells you information about us and informs you of the legal terms and conditions (the "Terms") which govern your use of Animake, the AI animation generator, animation editor and animation library operated by 17 Movement ("17movement", "We", "Us", "Our") (the "Service").

These Terms will apply to any contract between you and Us in respect of your use of the Service, including your purchase of subscriptions ("Plans") and one-off packs of credits ("Credit Packs") ("Contract"). Please read these Terms carefully and make sure that you understand them before creating an account or buying anything. By using the Service, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you refuse to accept these Terms, you must not use the Service.

You should print a copy of these Terms off or save them to your computer for future reference.

We amend these Terms from time to time, as set out in Our right to vary these Terms. Every time you wish to place an order, please check these Terms to ensure that you understand the terms which will apply at that time. These Terms were most recently updated on 22 October 2026.

These Terms are only available in the English language.

About Us

Animake is operated by 17 Movement. Animake is an online platform for creating character animations with AI: you can generate animations from text prompts, edit them in a browser-based editor, retarget imported FBX animations, group clips into collections, export them in formats you can use in your own projects, work together in teams and share animations in a public animation library.

Animake is our own product, developed and operated independently by 17 Movement and offered exclusively through our own website and Service. Some export formats offered by the Service are compatible with third-party games, engines and tools. We are not affiliated, associated, authorised, sponsored or endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with, any company, publisher or platform whose products, games, engines or file formats the animations created with Animake can be used with. Any names, brands and trademarks of such third parties mentioned in the Service are used only to identify compatibility and remain the property of their respective owners.

Contacting Us

If you wish to contact us for support, to report an animation in the library, to report another user breaching these Terms, or with any question about these Terms, you can email us at [email protected] or open a ticket on our Discord server.

If we have to contact you or give you notice in writing, we will do so by e-mail to the address linked to your account or by a notice in the Service.

Your Account

You can try the generator without an account. Guest generations are previews only and are kept for a short time. To download files, save your work, buy a Plan or Credit Pack, publish to the library or join a team, you need an account.

You can create an account with an email address and a password, which requires confirming your email address, or by signing in with Discord. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.

You are responsible for keeping your password and sign-in codes confidential and for all activity under your account. We recommend turning on two-step verification. Please tell us immediately if you think someone has accessed your account without your permission.

Your account is personal to you. You must not share, sell or transfer it, or create several accounts to get around limits, free generations or rewards. Your name, handle and public profile must not impersonate anyone or infringe anyone's rights; we may change or remove a handle that does.

The Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access and use the Service.

The features, limits and prices of each Plan (for example the credits included, queue priority, how long generated files are kept, the number of takes per generation and access to FBX retargeting) are described on the pricing page and in the Service at the time you use it.

Generated files can be downloaded for the retention period of your Plan, which is shown in your dashboard. Please download anything you want to keep; after that period files are no longer available.

We are constantly developing Animake and may add, change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what you have already paid for, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel your Plan.

We do not guarantee continuous, error-free, virus free or secure operation and access to the Service. Generations are processed in a queue, so the time it takes to receive an animation varies.

Problems with the Service

Your contract with Us means that we will make every reasonable effort to resolve any problems or queries You may have. To contact us, please refer to Contacting Us above. If difficulties are encountered with the performance or non-performance of an ancillary service provided to You (for example the game, engine, server or other software in which you use the animations) that is related or required to use the animations you created, then we may refer you to specialised external support, however you should always contact us in the first instance.

Credits

Generating animations, retargeting and some other features of the Service use credits ("Credits"). The number of Credits an action uses is shown on the pricing page or in the Service.

You receive Credits with each paid period of your Plan, by buying Credit Packs and as rewards for animations accepted into the library. Within a team, members use the team's shared Credit balance within the limits set by the team.

Credits accumulate: Credits included in your Plan are added to the Credits already on your balance. Credits do not expire and there is no cap on your balance, including after you cancel your Plan.

If a generation fails, or you cancel it before it starts processing, the Credits it used are returned to your balance automatically. Credits used for a generation that was completed are not returned because you do not like the result; generating again uses Credits again.

Credits are a licence to use features of the Service. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything else outside the Service, and cannot be sold or transferred to another account, except that you may move Credits between your personal balance and a team you belong to where the Service allows it.

If Credits are added to your balance by mistake, or as a result of fraud, a refunded or disputed payment or a breach of these Terms, we may remove them. When your account is deleted, any Credits on your personal balance are lost; Credits on a team's balance stay with the team.

Plans, Credit Packs and Order process

All payments for the Service are processed through our payment provider Stripe on a secure Stripe checkout page. Payment methods, taxes and the total amount will be detailed as part of the checkout process. Please take the time to read and check your order at each stage of the order process.

Plans are subscriptions billed monthly or annually in advance. Your Plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period and the price of the next period is charged to your payment method until you cancel.

You can change your Plan in your billing settings, and update your payment method, download invoices or cancel your Plan at any time in the Stripe billing portal available there. Cancelling stops future renewals; your Plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and the Credits you have already received stay on your balance.

Credit Packs are one-off purchases. Credit Packs bought for a team are added to that team's balance.

All orders will be subject to these Terms in addition to Stripe's terms for the payment itself. You should contact Us in the event that you have any queries or issues with your order or Our terms and conditions of sale.

Delivery

Credits and the benefits of your Plan are delivered electronically to your account (or to your team's account) as soon as Stripe confirms your payment, usually within a few minutes. You should contact Us if they do not appear or you have any other queries or issues in respect of this.

Price of Plans and Credit Packs

The price of Plans and Credit Packs to be paid by you is set by Us and will be as quoted on the pricing page and at checkout at the time you submit your order.

We may change the prices from time to time, but changes will not affect any order you have already placed that has been accepted by Us. If we change the price of your Plan, we will tell you in advance and the new price will apply from your next renewal; you can cancel before then.

Payment processing related to Plans and Credit Packs is performed by us and our third-party payment processor Stripe.

If VAT (or any similar sales tax) is chargeable on any payments in any territory, we will add such VAT amount to the price to be paid by you.

The terms relating to any mistake caused by incorrect pricing or incorrect treatment of VAT are as agreed between you and Us.

How to pay

You can only pay using payment methods offered during the Stripe checkout.

When you provide payment information you represent to us that you are the authorised user of the card, PIN, key or account associated with that payment and you authorise us to process your payment, and any renewal of your Plan, with our third-party payment processor for any fees incurred by you. We may require you to provide your address or other information in order to meet our obligations under applicable tax law.

You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise your place of residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions, to purchase at pricing not appropriate to your geography, or for any other purpose.

Please note that some payment methods may attract additional fees for reasons including but not limited to: currency conversions, gateway fees, originator fees. We recommend you check closely the amount to pay on the confirmation screen provided by Stripe or your payment provider.

AI-Generated Animations

Animations are generated by AI models from the prompts and settings you provide. AI output can be inaccurate, unexpected or unsuitable for your purpose, and similar or identical animations may be generated for other users. You are responsible for reviewing an animation before you use it.

As between you and Us, you may use the animations you generate, edit and export with Animake (the "Output") for any lawful purpose, including commercial use in your own or your clients' projects, games, servers and software and in content you distribute, subject to these Terms and to the rights of third parties. We do not claim ownership of your Output. Because Output is created by AI, we do not guarantee that it is unique to you or that it is protected by copyright or any other intellectual property right.

Generations made as a guest, or without Credits, are previews: you can view them in the Service, but downloading or exporting them may require an account and Credits.

We may refuse prompts that break Acceptable Use. A prompt that is refused before a generation starts does not use Credits.

Export Formats and Third-Party Software

The Service lets you export animations in several formats, some of which are designed to be compatible with third-party games, game engines, modding platforms and tools. Compatibility with a third-party product does not mean that we are connected with its owner in any way, as explained in About Us.

Using Output in any third-party game, engine, platform or software, including on servers or in modifications, is subject to the terms, policies and licences of the owner or operator of that software. You are solely responsible for checking and complying with those terms. We do not guarantee that any third-party software will accept, support or continue to support the formats we export.

The animation library may list animations, skeletons or other reference assets that originate from third-party software, for reference only. Those assets remain the property of their owners and nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in them.

If you upload prop models or other files, you must have the right to use them. Files you import for retargeting (for example FBX files) are processed in your browser; you remain responsible for complying with the licence of the source animation.

Your Content

Your content includes the prompts you write, your settings, the files you upload, your edits, clips, collections and pose presets, and your profile and team details ("Your Content"). You keep all rights you have in Your Content.

You grant Us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display Your Content, and to have it processed by our service providers (for example our GPU processing providers and the AI provider that processes the text of your prompts), only as needed to provide, secure and improve the Service. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for content you have published to the library and copies kept in backups for a limited time.

You are responsible for Your Content and you confirm that you have all rights needed to give us this licence and that Your Content does not break these Terms or the law.

If you turn on a public link for a generation, anyone with the link can view it until you turn the link off.

The Animation Library

Publishing an animation to the public library is optional. When you submit an animation, our moderators review it before it becomes public. We may accept or reject a submission, edit its name, category and tags, and hide or remove any animation at our discretion. We will let you know our decision on your submission by email.

By publishing an animation, you grant Us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and perpetual licence to host, reproduce, display, distribute and make available that animation, including its preview, thumbnail, name and tags, in the Service and in promoting the Service. You also grant every Animake user a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and perpetual licence to view, download and fork (copy and modify) it and to use it, including commercially, in their own projects, subject to these Terms.

Your name and handle are shown with your animation unless your profile is private. A fork is credited as based on your animation and stays in the library as its own entry even if your original is removed.

When your animation is accepted into the library for the first time, we may add a reward in Credits to your balance, or to your team's balance if you published it for a team. The amount is shown in the Service, a reward is given only once per animation, and we may change or end rewards at any time. Rewards for animations that break these Terms may be removed.

To remove an animation you published, contact Us and we will take it off the library within a reasonable time. Copies that other users have already downloaded or forked may continue to be used under the licence above.

Downloading animations from the library requires an account and may require Credits.

Acceptable Use

You must not use the Service:

  • to create, upload, share or publish content that is unlawful, infringes anyone's rights, sexualises minors, promotes terrorism or violent extremism, is hateful, or harasses or targets a real person;
  • to impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
  • to get around Credit, Plan, rate or download limits, bot protection or moderation, including by creating several accounts or by using scripts, bots or scraping, except where we expressly allow it;
  • to interfere with or overload the Service, probe its security, or access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access;
  • to upload malware or files you do not have the right to use.

You shall not use the Service for any purpose other than as permitted by these Terms. You shall not sell, rent, lease, license or grant a security interest in the Service or access to it to others without our prior written consent.

You shall not in whole or in part, copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, translate, modify, create any derivative work from, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to discover the source code contained in or pertaining to the Service. This does not limit your use of Output as described in these Terms.

Teams

You can create a team or join one by invitation. Invitations expire after 7 days. The owner of a team is responsible for the team and for the people invited to it. Owners and admins manage members, roles, member Credit limits and the team's page.

A team has its own Credit balance, which its members use within the limits set by the owner and admins. Content created in a team workspace (such as generations, collections, props and pose presets) belongs to the team: if you leave a team or your account is deleted, that content stays with the team. If a team is deleted, its content and remaining Credits are moved to its owner.

Team pages are public and may show the team's name, avatar, description, published animations and, if the team chooses, its members.

How we use your personal information

We only use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please take the time to read this document, as it includes important terms which apply to you.

Age restriction

You may only create an account, use the Service or purchase Plans and Credit Packs if you are at least 16 years old.

Suspension and Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account in your account settings. We review deletion requests, cancel any active subscription and then delete your account. Credits on your personal balance are lost when your account is deleted.

We may suspend or close your account, remove content or refuse service if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close your account without a breach on your part, we will refund the unused part of any Plan period you have paid for.

The sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue to apply after termination, including the licences granted for published animations, Our liability and Other important terms, will continue to apply.

Our right to vary these Terms

We amend these Terms from time to time. Please look at the top of this page to see when these Terms were last updated.

Every time you order a Plan or Credit Pack, the Terms in force at the time of your order will apply.

We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or in relevant laws and regulatory requirements.

If we make material changes to these Terms, we will contact you to give you reasonable advance notice of the changes. If you are not happy with the changes, you may cancel your Plan and stop using the Service before they take effect.

Right of Withdrawal and Refund for EU customers

This Condition only applies to European Union ("EU") customers.

EU law provides you with a right of withdrawal on purchases of digital content and digital services (i.e. the agreement between you and Us). This can be excluded for digital content once its supply has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. The EU statutory right of withdrawal otherwise ends 14 days after you purchase.

We are obligated to inform you of your EU right of withdrawal in detail, which you can find in the Right of Withdrawal for EU Customers schedule below. If this Condition should in any way differ from that schedule, the terms in the schedule shall prevail. Our voluntary refund options are described in our Sales and Refunds policy.

Further Rights

If you are a consumer, We are under a legal duty to supply a Service that is in conformity with the Contract. As a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to a Service that is faulty, not as described or not provided with reasonable skill and care. These legal rights are not affected by your right of withdrawal or anything else in these Terms. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local consumer advice organisation.

Our liability

If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or if it was contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into these Terms.

Loss or damage is not foreseeable if it relates to a loss of goodwill, computer failure or malfunction, any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or exemplary damages, any delay or inability to use the Service or any other damages arising out of or in any way connected with the Service.

We are not responsible for how you use Output, for files you did not download before the end of your retention period, or for any consequences of using Output in any third-party game, engine, platform or software, including any action taken by the owners or operators of that software or by server owners.

We do not in any way exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

Third-Party Sites

The Service may provide links to other third-party sites or third party vendors who provide content, goods and or services on the Internet (for example Stripe or Discord). Any separate charge or obligations you incur in your dealings with these third parties is your responsibility. We make no representation or warranties, either express or implied, regarding any third-party site.

Other important terms

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, but this will not affect your rights or our obligations under these Terms.

You may only transfer your rights or your obligations under these Terms to another person if we agree in writing.

These Terms are between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of their terms, whether under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise, except that other Animake users may rely on the licence you grant them when you publish an animation to the library.

Each of the paragraphs of these Terms operates separately. If any provision or part-provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be deemed deleted, but that shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of this agreement. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of the conditions are unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining conditions will remain in full force and effect.

If we fail to insist that you perform any of your obligations under these Terms, or if we do not enforce our rights against you, or if we delay in doing so, that will not mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we do waive a default by you, we will only do so in writing, and that will not mean that we will automatically waive any later default by you.

Please note that these Terms are governed by English law. This means any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them will be governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. However, if you are a resident of Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are a resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.

As a consumer, you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident. Nothing in these terms and conditions, including the previous paragraph, affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions of local law.

Right of Withdrawal for EU Customers

This Schedule only applies to EU customers.

As a user of the Service domiciled in an EU member state, you have the right to withdraw from a Contract for a Plan or a Credit Pack within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the Contract was concluded.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform Us of your decision to withdraw from the Contract by an unequivocal statement sent in writing by email to [email protected].

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

If you exercise your right of withdrawal, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which We are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. Credits added by the withdrawn purchase will be removed from your balance.

The statutory right of withdrawal is not applicable as regards the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (for example Credits you have already used to generate, retarget or download animations) if the performance has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgment that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. If you asked us to start providing a Plan during the withdrawal period and then withdraw, you may have to pay an amount in proportion to what has been provided until you informed us of your withdrawal.

Ancillary Services: In order to use the animations you create, You may need to access or use ancillary services provided by third parties (such as games, game engines, game servers or game clients). Access and use of these ancillary services may be subjected to additional terms. We recommend that you locate and review any such terms, as You agree any such terms, or your disagreement with such terms, will not affect or otherwise alter this purchase.
